Hello! My name is Sarah Lang and I am a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of Oceanography at the University of Rhode Island. I study Physical Oceanography (advisor: Dr. Melissa Omand). I work with aircraft, satellite, and in situ observations to better understand the impacts of (sub)mesoscale dynamics on phytoplankton and carbon export.

I am planning to defend my PhD in late spring 2026 and am currently looking for a post-doc position!
